The all-new Buick Avenir at the Chicago Auto Show

If you didn’t think a car’s interior materials can make a big difference, we think you’ll change your mind the moment you find yourself inside the Buick Avenir concept vehicle. Just in case you don’t have that opportunity – allow us to set the scene. A rich, natural wood trim adorning the door panels, a 3D acrylate instrument panel, and soft leather seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel, and that’s just the beginning.

Designers took inspiration for the Buick Avenir’s interior from nature. Materials, color, and design elements can all be traced right back to the great outdoors. In fact, much of the Avenir is designed with the vision of water washing on a shoreline in mind. Rolling lines and deep colors are evidence of the shoreline’s unique influence over the Avenir.

The Avenir’s luxurious interior has garnered the attention of the auto industry, earning it several awards and accolades since its debut.

“The attention to detail within Avenir is outstanding,” said Charles Allen, a retired automotive designer who served as a chief judge for the 2015 EyesOn Design Awards, in a recent news release. “What stands out to me is how well everything is integrated – all of the materials and elements work together seamlessly to provide a sensation of understated elegance that fits the Buick brand perfectly.”

Though the Avenir remains a concept vehicle for the time being, Buick’s focus on high-quality and welcoming interiors extends through its entire lineup. Stop by Paul Sur Buick GMC today to check out our lineup of vehicles, all of which feature luxurious interiors.

What to Pack in Your Roadside Emergency Kit

Roadside Help

Is your roadside emergency kit equipped for every situation?

If you’ve ever been stuck on the side of the road, then you can certainly appreciate the significance of a roadside emergency kit. Containing all of the safety, survival, and maintenance supplies you’ll ever need, an emergency kit could just save your life.

According to the DMV, your kit should consist of basic safety, survival, and maintenance supplies. Safety supplies include a first aid kit, fire extinguisher, and flares or triangle reflectors. You should also think of keeping an old cell phone in your glove compartment to call 911 with in case your normal phone dies.

Survival supplies consist of food rations (like granola or power bars), plenty of water, and blankets. Consider keeping matches, work gloves, and a pocketknife as well. Flashlights are also invaluable, especially if you simply have to change a tire in the dark.

Last but not least, simple maintenance supplies can be a great help. Keep a spare reserve of oil, brake fluid, and coolant in case there’s a leak. On top of that, keep duct tape, a screw driver, and adjustable wrench in your trunk as well. With all of these supplies combined, you should be prepared for virtually any scenario.

GMC Dependability Ranks Among the Best in the World

2015 GMC Sierra

The 2015 GMC Sierra is one of the highest rated vehicles!

Ranking in the Top 10 Most Dependable brands on the market, GMC was proud to receive several awards from a recent JD Power study. This survey determined which vehicles were the most dependable on the road, and it came up with three GMC models: the Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Terrain.

According to GMC, JD Power determines these numbers by measuring the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles. That means that compared to most other manufacturers, GMCs are among the most durable and rugged cars and trucks you can buy. Why would you buy something that isn’t as reliable?

“The momentum continues at GMC with this recognition,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “We expect all of our vehicles to perform at the highest level every time a customer gets behind the wheel and this achievement validates our commitment to dependability and reliability.”

GMC dependability was through the roof thanks to some new engineering and design tactics. New models are made to last, using both high-strength and lightweight materials. Not only that, but there’s also an incredible attention to detail during the production process. GMCs are for anyone that wants a reliable vehicle, plain and simple. We are proud to offer tons of GMC vehicles at Paul Sur Buick GMC in Valparaiso, IN.

GMC Canyon Spy Shots Reveal Luxury Denali Trim

2015 GMC Canyon
2015 GMC Canyon

The GMC Canyon is rumored to get a Denali trim!

If there’s one thing you can count on GMC to always do, it’s adding a luxury Denali trim to each model in its lineup.

“But wait,” we hear you ask. “The Canyon pickup truck doesn’t have a Denali trim!”

You’re right—for now. Spy shots have revealed a Canyon testing in the wild with camouflage covering its front end. The camo wasn’t enough to completely hide the grille, however, which revealed the chrome mesh that all GMC fans will recognize as a mark of the Denali trim (by contrast, the standard model has horizontal slats).

The lower intake also appears to be completely lined in chrome, though the rest of the pickup looks the same as the current Canyon, which probably explains why GMC didn’t bother covering it up.

Given the pickup truck’s success, it makes sense that GMC would want to give it the Denali treatment. That means better quality materials, more technology, more convenience, and all the other usual luxury upgrades. Check out any of our Denali models at Paul Sur Buick GMC to see for yourself!
