GMC “Swish” Ad Stars the Updated 2015 GMC Lineup

GMC Precision

GMC embodies precision

GMC’s most recent ad campaign, called “Precision,” points out the automaker’s commitment and dedication to precision craftsmanship. Following the release of GMC’s first ad in the series, “Fastball,” the automaker has released the next installment, “Swish.”

In “Fastball,” GMC compares the precision of its trucks and SUVs to a baseball player’s perfect pitch. Now, in the GMC “Swish” ad, the automaker compares its craftsmanship to…. you guessed it, a basketball player’s “nothing but net” shot.

GMC plays on the fact that everybody loves the sound of a ‘swish’ when a perfect shot is made. You know, the kind where the ball falls perfectly into the net, not so much as touching the baskets’ rim? The commercial claims that that kind of precision is exactly what attracts customers to their cars.

“We’ve been thinking: there’s a sound a ball makes when it catches nothing but net. Everyone loves that sound. That precision. At GMC, we get that. Nothing separates the men from the boys like nothing but net. This is precision. This is GMC.”

We have to admit, the commercial boasts some serious cool factor.

Escaped Killer Caught in Chicago

Chicago

Taylor was arrested in Chicago

An escaped killer caught by Chicago police is heading back to prison and his aunt is facing charges for helping him escape. Kamron Taylor, 23, was arrested around 9 p.m. on April 3rd. Police were responding to a call about a suspicious person in the area.

Taylor had a loaded .38 caliber handgun on his person when he was apprehended by two officers. Shortly after, police arrested Tonya Grant, 50, Taylor’s aunt. A former guard at the jail, she’s suspected of giving Taylor information that aided his escape. Grant’s bond was set at $150,000 and is charged with obstructing justice and aiding in escape.

Taylor was awaiting sentencing for a 2013 murder. He escaped Jerome Combs Detention Center April 1st and had been running until his apprehension. After failing to return to his cell during lockdown, he beat a corrections officer and stole the guard’s uniform.

“I hope that he is permanently removed from the streets, that he is put into the Illinois Department of Corrections,” said Tim Bukowski, Kankakee County Sheriff.

Taylor has no chance of receiving bail. He’s also charged with possessing a loaded revolver upon capture. There hasn’t been any word on the guard’s condition.

Buick is ranked by J.D. Power as one of the top 20 in dealer service.

If you want quality customer service, then look no further than a Buick dealership. The Buick brand was recently recognized as one of the top 20 mass-market brands in dealer service satisfaction, according to the 2015 J.D. Power U.S. Customer Service Index Study. This honor highlights how buying a Buick isn’t just about getting a premium-level car for a value-oriented price—it’s about getting terrific customer service, too.

“Superior reliability, quality, and customer service is core to every model we bring to the market,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick. “Leading the market in service satisfaction demonstrates that we and our dealers continue to deliver on that commitment.”

The winners of this accolade were determined from data gathered from a survey taken of owners and lessees of vehicles that were 1 to 5 years old. This survey asked the individual car owners what their satisfaction with the product was, focusing on five specific areas—service quality, service initiation, service advisor, service facility, and vehicle pick-up.
