Summer Events at the Lincoln Park Zoo

Lincoln Park Zoo

We at Paul Sur Buick GMC love serving the fabulous city of Chicago, Illinois. Spring and summer are beautiful around the city and we like to believe that Chicago is in bloom. One of our favorite places to visit during this time is the Lincoln Park Zoo.

The Lincoln Park Zoo is free, which is only part of the reason it is a great place to visit. It is located along the lakefront in Chicago’s North Side Lincoln Park neighborhood and is gorgeous this time of year. In addition to the natural beauty, the zoo has several unique events on the calendar during this time.

There are several guided garden tours during this season where the Lincoln Park Zoo’s Horticultural Department will showcase its flowers. Another way to enjoy the peaceful area is to take part in Adult Yoga at the Zoo. This takes place on the zoo’s Nature Boardwalk and is geared toward beginner and intermediate yoga practitioners. There is also parent and toddler yoga on Thursdays!

On some evenings this summer, there will be adult-focused evenings at the zoo. These Adult Night Outs will allow those 18 and older to experience a quieter evening at the zoo.

These are just a few of the available options at the Lincoln Zoo this summer. Be sure to check out the zoo’s website for a complete listing and for registration options of different events!

We at Paul Sur Buick GMC love the Windy City. One of the things we treasure about Chicago is the variety of things to do and see. Even if you are on a budget, Chicago is a perfect place to explore. Here are some of our favorite things to do and see for free. Yes, you heard us correctly… free things to do in Chicago!

Promontory Point – There are many wonderful parks in the city, but one of our favorites is Promontory Point. This park offers an amazing view of downtown over the lake and is usually not as touristy as other parks.

Chicago Cultural Center – This stunningly beautiful venue hosts plenty of free events. Some of these may include music, dance, theater, lectures, and art exhibits. Just the building itself is worth a visit with its magnificent stained-glass domes.

Lincoln Park Zoo – This is one of the last free zoos in the United States. Founded in 1868, it is also one of the oldest zoos. With many fascinating animals, this is a place the whole family will enjoy visiting.

Garfield Park Conservatory – One of the nation’s premier conservatories! Tour the multi-faceted greenhouses and exhibition halls. There is a suggested donation, but it is not required.

This list represents a small portion of the free things to do around Chicago. We hope it encourages you to get out there and explore all that the Windy City has to offer!
